Two Texas authorities arrested two days apart on sexual assault charges
Two Texas deputies were arrested within two days of each other due to unrelated incidents of sexual assault. The first arrest of Sergeant Ryan Raymond occurred on Saturday, November 14 in Jims Well County. The second officer, Deputy Matthew Adams, was arrested in Bexas County on Monday, November 16. Both officers were released on bail.
According to reports, Raymond faces charges of violating civil rights of a person in custody after he allegedly sexually assaulted a female inmate in her cell. During the investigation, Raymond admitted to the crime after video footage showed him entering the victim’s cell alone, an act that goes against policy.
Adams, on the other hand, reportedly faces charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child after news broke of a sexual relationship between the deputy and a 15-year-old girl. The victim told officers the relationship began when she was just 13. Adams is the fourteenth officer in Bexar County to face criminal charges this year. Adams also admitted to the crime when questioned.
