Reports said 68-year-old William Crum was arrested on October 19 after he swerved and crashed his vehicle into a passing motorcycle on Tin Top Highway just two days prior. Crum told authorities that the accident happened because he reacted to a bug that stung his left leg. The motorcycle driver, Eric Sanders, and a female passenger both suffered injuries in the incident. The passenger was listed in critical condition at the hospital where she is receiving treatment. Crum is being investigated to determine if he deliberately struck the motorcycle that was illegally passing him on the two lane road.
