Arrested woman charged with capital murder in Dallas

A woman who was recently arrested in Dallas is facing a capital murder charge after she was linked to the death of a female dentist, an article from ABC News reported on September 5.

In the arrest documents provided by the Dallas Police, 22-year-old Crystal Cortez was arrested and was held on a $250,000 bail after Kendra Hatcher, 35, died of a gunshot wound in her apartment. Authorities found Hatcher’s body in her apartment’s parking garage.

The arrest was made after security camera footage revealed that Cortez was the driver of the vehicle that transported the gunman to the apartment where Hatcher was living. An affidavit revealed that Cortez told investigators about driving the vehicle with the man who attacked and kill Hatcher. The assailant, who was not identified in the report, also robbed Hatcher after shooting her.
