Aroldis Chapman suspected of assaulting girlfriend
Major League Baseball player Aroldis Chapman was recently accused of attacking his live-in partner while in their Davie, Florida residence. Authorities from Davie Police were notified of a “domestic disturbance” at the house of Chapman and his 22-year-old girlfriend. No arrests were made as the reports given by those involved conflicted and not enough evidence was present.
Chapman’s girlfriend told police that he physically assaulted her during an argument the two were having over something she found on his cell phone. The Cincinnati Reds player differed in his recounting of the incident, as he told officers that he only poked the woman’s shoulder with two fingers. MLB investigators are exploring the circumstances of the situation further in an effort to determine exactly what happened.
