Miami Heat’s Greg Oden arrested for domestic violence

On Thursday, August 7 Miami Heat basketball player, Greg Oden was arrested after allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend.

Around 3 a.m. authorities responded to an incident in 7200 block of Maple Bluff Place and found Oden’s ex-girlfriend with blood on her face. A witness stated that Oden punched the victim in the face. Upon apprehension, police said that the NBA player was calm and cooperative.

According to Lawrence Police Chief Gary Woodruff the 26-year-old player was initially charged with misdemeanor battery while waiting for a charging decision from the Marion County Prosecutor’s office.
