Lance Armstrong cited in Colorado hit-and-run

Professional cyclist Lance Armstrong recently was cited after leaving an accident scene in Aspen, Colorado, cbsnews.com reported on February 4.

Several reckless driving-related charges were filed against the 43-year-old former cyclist for damaging two parked vehicles at a ski resort. Armstrong’s girlfriend Anna Hansen, who was also in the vehicle during the time of the crash, made a false statement to authorities claiming responsibility for the crash. Hansen left her information and the couple left the scene, saying they thought they had completed their legal obligation. The fabricated story was allegedly conceived to avoid national headlines. Citations of speeding and failing to report and accident were dropped against Anna and transferred to Armstrong. Lance is expected to appear in court on March 17.
